Service Description

Fendo UK breakaway training is designed to give staff simple, effective options for disengaging and creating space when confronted with unwanted physical contact. The focus is on escape, balance recovery, and safety, not domination or prolonged physical struggle. Training addresses the most common grabs and holds encountered in workplace and public facing environments, examining how panic, poor positioning, and over commitment increase risk. Participants learn how to use posture, movement, leverage, and timing to break contact and immediately re-establish distance and control, allowing them to disengage or seek support. Emphasis is placed on early intervention, awareness, and prevention, alongside understanding personal limits and recognising when disengagement is the safest option. The legal framework surrounding reasonable force and duty of care is integrated throughout, ensuring responses are defensible and proportionate. Delivery is practical, controlled, and risk-managed, with content adapted to the environment and role of the participants. Techniques are kept straightforward and repeatable, suitable for staff with varying levels of physical ability and experience. Breakaway training supports safer decision making, reduces injury risk, and reinforces professional boundaries in situations where physical contact cannot be avoided.
