Service Description

This course is aimed at staff who are at risk of assault or crime, and where management of this risk involves giving them the skills to protect themselves or third parties, whilst managing the reasonable force and duty of care considerations. Units on the course include: Positive control and restraint Personal safety, security and self defence concepts and strategies Criminology Psychology Physiology Reasonable force and the Law Physical intervention skills are sometimes required for the safe and legal management of physically challenging behaviour. This Physical Intervention training will prepare you to safely and humanely react to crisis situations where restrictive physical intervention is the last resort to prevent serious harm.
