Service Description

Fendo UK knife awareness sessions are designed to confront the reality of edged weapon violence, not myths, bravado, or cinematic solutions. These sessions focus on understanding risk, recognising danger early, and making decisions that prioritise avoidance and survival, rather than confrontation. We examine how knife incidents actually develop: the environments they occur in, the behaviours that precede them, and the psychological and emotional states involved. Participants learn to recognise pre-incident indicators, changes in body language, distance violations, and behavioural cues that signal escalation. Emphasis is placed on space, positioning, barriers, movement, and exit, not trying to “deal with” a blade. The sessions address the true consequences of knife violence, including injury patterns, legal realities, and the lasting physical and psychological impact on victims, witnesses, and those involved. This removes false confidence and replaces it with informed decision-making and personal responsibility. Delivery is age appropriate and context specific, whether in schools, community settings, or professional environments. Content is adapted to suit the audience while maintaining accuracy and realism. There is no glorification, no technique collecting, and no encouragement of confrontation. Where response options are discussed, they are framed as last resort survival decisions, governed by proportionality, legality, and the understanding that there are no safe outcomes once a blade is involved. These sessions are not about teaching people how to fight a knife. They are about understanding the threat, avoiding it wherever possible, and reducing harm through awareness, behaviour, and informed choices. Types of bladed weapon, Range and distance, Damage limitation, Using psychology, Overcoming fear, Using your environment to your advantage, Disarming, Self triage and self first aid This course is for anyone who wishes to understand the concept of dealing with Edged weapons and knives. This includes existing martial artists and instructors, security professionals and general members of the public with no prior training.
